Last night I joined Leo Kuelbs in meeting with Berlin based video artist Vadim Schaffler. He was showing some of his work for inclusion in an upcoming exhibit that Leo is co-curating: Decelerator . The exhibit, slated for Spring 2011 will take place simultaneously in New York, Berlin and Budapest. The pieces he showed us are digitally choreographed with organic elements, altered, and synthesized, being both recognizable and pixelated.

The first still above, from a video titled Motion will be shown in accordance with 3 others and his will also feature a collaborative soundtrack by Alexander Hacke. Alexander, a member of the legendary German Industrial band EINSTÜRZENDE NEUBAUTEN will contribute a highly experimental noise piece specifically for the Decelerator.

Been a super busy week!! Hit up Color Fields at the Guggenheim as well as Carlston Holler’s SOMA at Hamburger Bahnhof-Museum fur Gegenwart-Berlin. Posts to follow shortly.
